Is there anyplace else in South MS/AL to do a little primative camping?  I'm talking about hiking in, not a rec area with bathrooms and such.

My family has a lease on 250 acres in Perkinston on Red Creek.  Bout as primitive as you can get.  Have not been up to the camp since Katrina though.  Will post pics tomorrow as we were planning to go anyways.

N. Alabama has the Sipsey Wilderness Area. Unbelieveably beautiful place. My buddy Ken and I backpack there all the time.

If you have a aluminum boat or canoe, then you could always float Black Creek in Brooklyn. Theres some pretty nice sandbars to camp on.
