One of our town librarians told my wife earlier today that all of our hotel rooms here in the city north of Birmingham are filled with 'refuges'.  Can anyone confirm this?

I know for a fact there are refugees there.  A friend of mine from Gulfport bugged out and ended up in B'ham.  He's still there and headed back south tomorrow to try to get home.

We have about a 100 at the Cullman civic center here. Supposed to be about another 100 showing up.

Yep, they are still bugging out.  I spoke with a young man this afternoon that had stopped for gas at Stuckey's at I-65 & Hwy 31 in N. Cullman County.  He is from New Orleans, and when I asked aobut his home he started crying and said that it is 20ft under water.  He has lost both his home & his job to the storm.  He is headed to Ohio where he has family and he says that he hoped he could find work there.

The young man seemed sincere enough that I gave what little money I had in my wallet to him.  Maybe it'll help the young man get to where he's going.  I just wish I was able to help everyone out that needs it, and so many are needing it right now.
