A tanker truck accident took out a bridge where I-59/I-20 and I-65 intersect.  For exact details and routes please go to www.al.com/.  It could take 6 months or more to fix this so plan accordingly.

This story looks awfully familiar (there was a nearly identical accident 2 years ago that is referenced in the article). I'm headed through Birmingham to Auburn this weekend, too. Thanks for posting the link.

Yes.  It has happened before.  The last one blew out part of I-65.

I think that the last one caused more traffic problems.  At least the routing around the problem was worse.
