I am traveling from Fort Wayne down to almost the Louisville area stopping at a bunch of farm equipment dealers along the way. Will be travelling for about 3 days. Any stores that I just have to see? Won't be going west of indy (not into indy very far). Any suggestions?

What route will you be taking? I-65 would be the preferred route if you were heading south from Indy, which is about 100 miles west of Fort Wayne. If you do take I-65, then I can recommend three shops along that route:

1. Acme Sports, which is a Class 3 dealer (along with regular firearm sales) –– Exit 50-B at Seymour.

2. Scott's Ace Hardware –– Exit 29-A at Scottsburg.

3. Kiesler's –– Exit 4 at Clarksville.

My most southern stop is Palmyra. Is the bass pro worth the extra drive?

What am I asking?? Of course a gun store is worth the extra drive!!

I went with a friend and his grandfather to a farm equipment place in Palmyra to get tractor parts –– back in 1984.

"Gunluster" on here runs the gun counter in Scottsburg.

Kiesler's has been changing their name to Orion Arms, so be on the look out for either sign. They have a big selection of toys, from hunting rifles to suppressed full autos on the shelf.

What is going on in Seymour? I tried to book a hotel for Tuesday and they all seem to be full. Scottsburg and Columbus were both available, not Seymour!

No Bass Pro is not worth the drive. Fudds behind the counter and high prices.

Keisler's is ok to look at. Prices high, the retail Staff, with the exception of 2 guys, are devoid of any personality. You would have a better conversation with a tree.

There are no suppressed full autos on the retail floor for you touch. What ones are there are behind a glass case and they will not show them to you.

Orion Arms, as a store, sucks. Their prices went up, the dealing went away and the retail help got worse.
Great place to go if you want to look at a wide selection or if money is no object, then buy away. The days of getting a good deal is over.

I have know Doug Keisler since the early 70's and I wish he still owned the retail side. The new guy is a tool.

Acme & Buckfever are awesome. Def. recommend them.

Also get off at the Greenwood exit. and slide over to Elmore's on state road 135.

Also Check out Tactical Shotgunner on Shelby just south of downtown Indy. Great people & great gear!
