Anybody going to the 1500 gun show in Indy next weekend? Is it worth attending?

Going Friday afternoon.  I will probably get there an hour or so before they open.  I never remember what time they open, and I always seem to show up an hour early.

I'll be swinging by on Friday after work. Normally I don't find the 1500 worth going to, but this is the first one since the death of the AWB, and I'm curious to see what prices are doing.

Any chance of posting some reports from the show here for me?

I am completely out of gun money or I would be going.  I've never been to another show to compare, but I think it's a decent show.  Lots of guns, lots of mags, lots of holsters.  I couldn't get any service from the holster guy last time though.  Yes, there's beef jerky and fudge, but not too much.

And roasted nuts and sometimes beanie babies too, but usually just the one table.  Plenty of uselessfancy knives, old war stuff, etc. as well.  But you get J&T, Model 1, M&A, and I think Sherluk all in the same room.  Plenty of other tables selling AR parts & magazines too.  You have the guys selling I think Pro-Shot's entire cleaning supply line, plenty of ammo, the flashlight guy with almost all of SureFire and Streamlight's products.  PSS, Albro's, some shop from Fort Wayne, and probably several other gun shops.  There's always somebody with sripped lowers, usually RRA and something like Stinger.  I've seen DPMS and BM as well.  You got your reloading guys, A-Z from Indy and others.  You got the guys sell mil-surplus clothing, and the guy selling "survival" stuff like medical implements.  Unfortunately there's hardly anybody with things like ACOGs, rails, slings or things like that.

I picked up a couple of 20 round ar15 mags for 10.00 a piece.  Found some small ar15 parts I needed and a box of ammo.  There was only one stripped Rock River arms lower that I could find and it was $149.  Give me a break!  Looks like I'll have to wait until the next show.

Got a 1000 rounds of Q3131 and  some cleaning supplies. Saw some 30 dollar labelle mags and a bunch of Beta C mags for G33's and SAW's.

This was one of the biggest Indy 1500s ever, 2 buildings....

Walked around and priced winchester primers and powder.. As usual A to Z had the best price on primers. The also had Winchester White Box 9mm (100) for the same price Walmart has.

Bought a Spiderco knife, 5k primers and 2lbs powder.. I get most of my powder at weidners.....

Stopped at Acme Sports in Seymour on the way too the show, Joe took most of my $$'s for 10 Glock 19 mags and 600 Rds of M855.   So I just managed to pick up some MagPul rail covers, an Emerson Lagriffe, an Otis cleaning system, and a MagCinch(anyone have trouble getting these set up right? oram I just that STOOPID?)

I got a case, gas rings, peel washers and some ammo.  Didn't see much M855 though.
(I know SS109 is similar, but I am picky)

Managed not to buy anything.  Opted to wait on the friends, by the time we hooked up I had to leave in about 45 minutes.  That was $8 well spent.  I like the new buildings though.

I went all three days.  On Sunday I spoke with some of the AR-15 dealers.  One said he sold all his stripped lowers, except the ones he put back for Saturday, between 2pm and 5pm on Friday.  He said that first thing Saturday, the same guys from Friday showed up and bought those.  He said he restocked 3 times.  The rest of the dealers were very busy as far as I could see.  For the first time in a very long time, there were a lot of used gun dealers out there that were interested in trading.  That was the best part.  It was a very good show for me, and I hope the rest of you did well too.

Texas Star Group said they have an 11 week wait from Rock river for stripped lowers.  I saw a lot of activity around most of the AR dealers.  I hope that's a good sign.

For me:

more q3131a
308 AP and tracer rounds to load up
new 20" A3 uppper
met Randy Weaver
Couldn't find any Surp. Powder to reload with..WTF?
more primers from A-Z
new leather sling for the FAL
bought some rough FAL mags for $3/ea. to refinish

Overall not a bad show, I heard a few of the dealers say business was so-so.  Didn't look at alot of other stuff, since I had a specific shopping list.

Found a used 12 gauge Wingmaster for under $200.  Probably the ONLY wingmaster in the buildng under $300+.

It was a Slugger for $250.  I bought it for $200 without the slug barrel.  Then sold the stocks to the parts guys for $30.  $170 invested in a complete receiver and action.  Being a slug gun the action is still tight.  Probably not shot much.

Any other 870 under $250 was an Express.
