When do you propose on having it.

I have always thought having one on the East Coast was a good idea.

The range I propose is in the town of North East MD.

It has 10-12 Ambidextrous shooting tables, covered shooting positions(Both on the Pistol & Rifle Range), skeet shooting and No annoying range master, you can bump-fire till the sun goes down. This is the place I shoot on a bi-weekly basis.

Fast food restaurants and gas stations nearby. Even "cute" antique stores down the road incase you bring your wife or girlfriend with you, even they will have a good time.

Its a flat $10 shoot all day fee and is wheelchair/handicapped accessible to the rifle range. Plenty of parking also. I belive the rifle range goes to 250yrds. It is Exit 100 off of I-95, I would say about 45minutes from Baltimore, 30minutes from Wilmington Delaware, and probably 1hr and 30min from Wash D.C.

If you have anymore questions about this range, feel free to e-mail me. [email protected]

Elk Neck State Forest
4395 Turkey Point Rd.
North East MD 21901
Closed: Mondays.
Open: Tuesday through Sunday 9:00 am to dusk.

FWIW: The first week of January I will not be able to shoot. I will however be able to attend any type of shoot that you guys/we put together any weekend after that and I get off of work on Saturdays at 1pm, Sundays I have off all day. I will shoot in any weather also.

I also wanted to add that this would be a good chance to swap Hi-Cap mags (cough cough - I meant FIND some Hi-cap mags laying around inside the range dumpster) for Maryland shooters that may have a hard time "Finding" Hi-cap mags.

Just a thought.

I think I have been to this range with a friend from Maryland.  I believe this is about 90 min from the Philadelphia metro area.  I would probably be interested in coming down if enough people were interested in a get together.  I too will shoot in whatever, but will be out of the country from 25 JAN – 09 FEB.  Any other time would work for me.  Keep us posted.

Maryland?  Seriously?  Don't drive with loaded mags in the car, or loaded guns.  Make sure your ammo and guns are in seperate containers, blah, blah, blah......

Probably the most gun unfriendly state on the East Coast.

I don't have any better suggestions, but there has got to be better ones.

Maryland is the bane of this area.

Agreed.  I moved down from PA (very gun friendly at the time) about 3 years ago and couldn't believe the difference.  I looked into getting a CCW (had one in Penny) but gave up after I found out you had to send your right testicle to Glendening.

ED,

Why not ask Dave if he get all of us on the range at Quantico.

OOOOOOOO.......that might be interesting.  I think the 1000yd Club might have an issue with us taking their range time though.

I'll ask as soon as he calls me about my AR10 coming back from Armalite.

Can the dumpster have 10/22 hi-caps in it?:)  We gotta start calling them normal capacity magazines. High capacity is a liberal buuzz word. No flame intended.  Count me in.

So you mean the USMC would possibly let us shoot there? Without being active duty? Hell that's really cool.

I'm always up for a shoot.

Maryland would do just as well as any where else.

Quantico permits shooters, IIRC, but includes extremely anal range masters. One wrong move and you are banned for life. (...is the rumor I've heard)

Maybe I can try out some of my .458SOCOM reloads (if I can roll some by then) just to scare the hell out of everyone.

So now that we all know we want to get together for a fun shoot.

Where does everyone want it to be held at?

I'm in for Elkneck.
There are not a lot of places to shoot in this area. I belong to several clubs, but they only allow 1 guest.

Any thing .50cal and under, and you can load 100round AK drum's and shoot all afternoon long (even bump fire if the park ranger isn't making his rounds. He is a cool guy and I even doubt he would care if you bump fired anyhow.)

After deer rifle sighting in season. Its pretty slow and vacant at Elk Neck. I highly doubt getting a table will be a problem even with a medium size group of people attending.

It's only 100 yards at the rifle range in North East unfortunately. Still a great place though. I would be in for a group shoot. I have a Barret you all can shoot. Might even place a few small propane cylinders down range and break out the API if it's just us there.

Depending on what date you guys choose, I might be able to make it. I live exactly 900 feet north of the Md/Pa border so it's not too far away. Hell, I used to tow a race car to Northeast every Friday and Sunday, so it's at least THAT close!

I'll keep an eye here....

pkennedy is organizing a possible shoot in Front Royal VA on the 5th or 12th of January.  Private land, supposedly ranges out to 1000yds?

I think the 5th is the date he is going to do his.

I'm a member of QSC,too, and I agree hat they are way to anal to let us in there "unfettered".  I do have a sister-in-law with a farm in Hanover, though that may be a bit far for some to travel.  I'll keep looking around.
