Yesterday morning my wife gave birth to our second child, Hunter. He was 7lbs 8oz and 20 inches in length. Both mom and baby are doing great and big sister Natalie (2 years 4 months) is enjoying her little brother.

Congrats!

Just think, it gives you a whole new excuse to go to the gunstore

"But, hon, I'm just storing it for him, for when he turns twelveteen..."

After Natalie was born I bought her a Youth Remington 870 20 gauge with a rifled slug barrel (I still need to get the vent rib barrel). For Hunter, I think that I'm going to get a Winchester Model 70 youth (if I can find one). I just don't know what caliber to get. Any suggestions for a good youth deer caliber?

As a happy new dad with Natalie I also got myself a new pistol. I have a feeling that will have to repeat itself except this time I think that it will be a 6.8 build.

Hmm, I have to go pick up Beth and Hunter soon, I'd better get Milan on the phone.

.243 sounds like something good to start in with Don't know if that's a legal hunting cartridge in MN though...

I don't own one but I hear they don't kick much, got enough punch to take down a deer with a good shot, and can be reloaded pretty well..

.243 is about the smallest you can go legally.  I took my first deer with a borrowed .243.

Does that make it 1 out of maybe the 20 left after all of the Dukes of Hazzard episodes and movies?

Nice.  Every kid should experience the muscle car era.
