I know Dick's is not handgun and EBR friendly, but what can I say?  I'm a whore for cheap ammo.

Remington UMC
9mm  4.99
.45 ACP  7.98

Supposedly a limit of 10 boxes, but I got that price for 20 boxes.  I also had a coupon from the back of today's Strib for buy 1 get 1 half off.

Grand total for the 1000 rounds of .45 ACP - $127.48, tax included.

Was that in Thursdays Star Trib?  Did you happen to see if they had coupons in-store?

Thanks

Dpmmn:  this is the old Galyan's stores in all locations.

Quin:  Yes, of course, not all of us can shoot Hydra-shoks as practice ammo

LouV68:  Did not see any coupons in store.  Prices are good without a coupon but the buy one get one 50% is only with the coupon.  There is also a $10 off $50 purchase that I am going to take advantage of today.

Thanks mcnielsen

I just called the Dick's in Richfield.  I asked the guy in firearms if they would honor the 1/2 off coupon price without the coupon.  He said no at first, but then said yes and to just come on in.  *The limit on the coupon is one box.

The sale items are:
.380ACP $7.98
38 Spl $7.98
9mm $4.98
.40 & 45ACP $7.98 although he says they are out of stock on the 45
Crap!!!

Just got back from the Minnetonka store.

14 boxes of .40 and 6 boxes of .45 = $127 and change.
20 boxes of 9mm = about $80
(the gal said I could apply the coupon on 10 boxes so total purchase was limited to 20... but she let me go thru twice on two coupons :)

They had plenty of 9mm, no .40 left after me and only about 26 boxes of .45 that I saw on the floor. No .40 in the back. Did not check on .45 in the back.

Would have bought more .45 at that great price but have nothing to shoot it with....

Odd...I just got back from the Minnetonka store and *I* cleaned them out with 15 boxes of .40 (loose boxes on the counter and shelf.  He said that was all they had after checking in the back).  They still had some 9mm cases left.

He said someone cleaned them out of their last case of .45 a few minutes before me.

ETA:  They even gave me the 10% case discount on the 3 cases of 9mm = 4.49 box (they sub'd WWB for the UMC).

Maybe this is a dishonorable thing to do but I bought 10 boxes from Woodbury and when I got to my car it turns out he only billed my 42 and change after tax.  I got it for 8 cents a round.  I didnt go back in to make it right I just went home, I am chalking it up to an employee that wanted to talk to his friends and not concentrate on his job.  Good for me I guess, gotta go to Bills and get rid of the evidence...

Diesel, you must've gotten the same idiot that I did at about 2pm today.  The male customer in front of me was buying some apparel, including some fuzzy socks.  "Those for a wife or girlfriend, I presume?" he asked.  Then he went off on how his girlfriend wanted to move in with him, the ring he got her for Xmas, etc, etc.  Made a normal 2 minute transaction take forever.

Of course, when I put my 500 rounds of ACP up on the counter, I had to say: "Before you ask, these are for my wife."  (His jaw drops open).  Nother 5 minutes of jawing, as I tried to ignore him.  All the while, the guy with the nifty "Front Manager" nametag is flittering idly by...  Anyway, 500 rounds out the door for about $32.  My father was next in line, and got his 500 for $42.  I felt bad for a moment, but then remember all the crappy service I always get there, and chalk the score up exactly as you did.

(Even better was the case of 30-30 I got a month ago for about $4/box after rebate)...

BTW: No 45 left anywhere in the Metro now.  I picked up the last today.

Far left register.  What can ya do I guess.  I felt the same way.  Now I am pretty good on .45 for a little while.  Side note they had tons of Q3131A but 4.99 a box...not so good.

Really?  Thats not what they told me.  If I would have known that I would have bought every box they had.  I was under the impression they were selling it for 7.98 a box, limit 10 boxes.  That is like 5 dollars off their regular price.  (that would be 16 cents a round, still a very good pricie)  Dangit Wish I got more.

This isn't the same sale as last week.  Last week handgun ammo was buy 1 get 1 50%.  This week it's rifle ammo, SG slugs and steel.  Unfortunetly, Dick's rifle ammo prices are too high to begin with, so the sale just brings them in line.

Last weeks sale was so good because the HG ammo was on sale, plus the 50% special.  This week, it's just on sale.  $4.99 for a box of brass 9MM - 10% off for 10 or more boxes is still an excellent deal, just not as excellent as last week.

Dick's was having these HG ammo sales about once a month over the summer, but lately they've been more frequent.  Interesting to see them beating China*Mart's prices on ammo.

Is ammo coming back down in price, or they just using it as a loss leader I wonder?

Well, I guess if Federal premium 300 Wby Nosler partitions at .68 cents a round is in line with everyone else I've been missing out. Also Remington sabot slugs for about 3-4 bucks a box cheaper than the competition.Value packs of .223 varmint loads Were a steal at buy 1 get 1 1/2 off.
