Does anyone know of a good smith in the twin cities area who works on high powers.  All I need done is have the magazine disconnect disconnected and the hammer bobbed.  I'd consider a trigger job if the price was right and a front night sight installed.  I know several smiths out of state who do this work but I am getting tired of spending the $$ for shipping.  Plus, from what I've heard, with the exception of the trigger job, this is all pretty simple and quick work.  Your thoughts would be appreciated.  Thanks.  Russ

Never heard of either?  Where are they?  What does he work on usually?  Thanks.

I distinctly remember Randy saying he did not like working on AKs and FALs or G3s.

He was in "one of those moods" when he said it, so, his demeanor may have changed since then.

(he still "hates" Remington 700s...)

Great gunsmith...the rest I leave upto other people's interpretations...

If you saw what he showed me after he took down a high buck 700, you would feel the same way.

(That stuff that doesn't mate/match where it should is astounding.)

Well, Randy and company rebarrel my 700 VS, and well it shoots really well!  It shoot less then .5MOA.  And, more like .3MOA at 300yd!  The Mike Rock Barrel I am sure helps!  But, that work sure makes for a good shooting 700.

Spoke to Randy today.  Great guy.  Going to do some work for me.  Appreciate the heads up.  Glad I don't own a Rem. 700.

There is a Caribou at the Crosstown and Shady Oak if that is your entrance to go Hopkins, and there is one at Hwy 7 and Hopkins Crossroads.

Is he a big coffee drinker?  I do Caribou in the morning on weekdays (closest one to the PD is in Blaine) and Starbucks on the weekend.  I could live without a lot of things, but don't screw with my coffee.

Some ground coffee will make Randy happy, and he moves things a long with bribes like that! It has worked for me a couple of times.  He has done stuff on the spot.

Thanks for the fix.

Hey Sully, had our 8th Tazing the other night since we deployed back on 11-15. The guy was 6'2 250 or so and to quote the young  officer fresh from off the farm in Iowa:  "the guy dropped like a sack of 'taters."  Thanks.  Russ
