With the ban going away, and seeing all the posts on AR pistols, I feel I just have to have one
 . Can I have on here, and does the lower need to be bought as a pistol. I figure what the hell. It would draw some looks at the range. Thanks eagle308us

I was thinking of the same thing, but I know I'll never get the $$ to build one yet.
The lower reciever would HAVE to be listed on the 4473 as a pistol, as well as during the NICS check. This would then allow you to build it as a pistl. This means that no matter what, you cannot build it as a rifle ever again though... |

Good point. I stated that because I distinctly remembered hearing people on this site claiming that you could never put a stock or vertical foreward handgrip on such pistols. I guess maybe they were afraid of it becoming an SBR if it had a stock. I'm guessing it could be possible to use the lower as a rifle as long as the barrel length was the 16" minimum.

it would be an SBR with a stock.
it would be an AOW with a forward grip. boy, those laws are as dumb as the AWB. hard to believe something as stupid as a forward grip could get you prison time.

I think it's ok to make it a rifle as long as it has a 16" barrel and a stock. That's how those 1911 carbine kits do are legal.
If you have a pistol upper with a stock, it's a SBR. but if you have a 16" bbl with a stock, it's a rifle, even if it's on a pistol lower. Someone correct me if I'm wrong. |
