Get yourself a PPK/S  (I think its the /s thats being made now)

'tis 380, so you could reload....

fairly easily concealable

decent accuracy

the one I was playing with was reliable (~100 rounds in a sitting with no hiccups)

Then your sig line would have to be "Nayburhood, iNuhBaDNayburhood, double-oh 6; licensed to dig"  (sorry....bad joke....crappy day.....)

As far as 1911's, aren't the Springfield Milspec's around $400?

I absolutely LOOOOOOVE the .380 ACP caliber, but I'm getting sick of fixing this little budget gun.  It was reliable with ALL defensive ammunition or ammo that wasn't notoriously under-powered such as Winchester or foreign crap.  Federal would feed great all day long.  This was a very reliable handgun with the right ammo, and what's even better is that after a bit of practice it was VERY accurate due to its fixed barrel.

You sir, need a PPK

Both the PPK and PPK/S are made...

The PPK/S is the only one that can be imported from Germany (it's basically a post-69-ban PPK).

Any 'new' original-size PPK must be made in the USA to comply with the import regs...

Save it until the next gun buy back and sell it to the antigun people and let them destroy it for you and you can get some $$$

My combat tuperware  easily has 20,000 rounds through it and it still works perfect.

Got the USP in 40s&w in 1993 way out of your price range. the point is buy something of high quality save to get a nice 1911 if  that is what you want.

I see the Rock Island Armory .45 in the SGN for about $300 - 350, but I don't know anything about it.

I have shot about 3500 rounds out of my Glock G22 in USPSA this year.  Every single one was a reload.  I had one misfire (no powder, learning to use a new Dillon 550).  Oh yea, I remember Glocks suck and you can't reload for them.  I'll add, my G22 still looks basically new and shoots awesome; shot it in league competition last night.  After shooting this gun in competition for a full season, I have a new appreciation for my Tupperware, and I will be shooting this gun again next season (unless it happens to fall in f'n Lake Minnetonka like my other stuff did....imagine that...me too!).
