I am moving to MN soon from a very gun-friendly state in the south.
I have a pre-ban AK and a post-ban AR.
What laws, rules, or regulations should I be aware of before I move?  Am I required to register these rifles with the local LE? State LE?  Should I just leave them behind?
Please advise.  Thanks in advance.

You don't have to register post-bans.  Pre-bans, however, are a different story.  You must be a resident of the state for at least 6 months before you're able to legally possess a pre-ban.

There is a loophole.  You can do a private transfer to a resident, who can then transfer the weapon back to you after your 6 month residency requirement has been met.

I'd be happy to help you out with this situation.  All I ask in return is 1000 rounds of ammo for said pre-ban (non-refundable).

I'll be needing mags too.
Just kidding - we're a Socialist state, but we're not as bad as MD.....yet.  There are no specific state restrictions on assault weapons, other than needing a permit to acquire if you're buying a new one.

No special requirements... The only caveat is that if you want to purchase hadnguns or black rifles you will need to obtain a "permit to purchase". No charge for this. It reall amounts to getting your  backround check done in advance.

No charge FedGunner?  Then why did I have to pay $10?  Did I get the "greenhorn" fee?
