Senator Adrienne Southworth has introduced a "Statewide 2nd Amendment Sanctuary bill". Here is a summary:

Senate Bill 254 will create a new section of KRS Chapter 237 to declare that all federal laws and regulations commandeering state or local law enforcement to enforce federal restrictions of firearms are invalid and of no effect in Kentucky and that the General Assembly has the duty to enact all measures to prevent their enforcement; that the General Assembly has the duty to protect and defend the state and federal constitutions; that proposed presidential actions relating to the acquisition, possession, and use of firearms and accessories are violative of presidential powers and citizens' rights under the federal constitution; provide retroactive application back to January 1, 2018; EMERGENCY.
Primary sponsor is Senator Adrienne Southworth.
The full text of the bill is available here: https://apps.legislature.ky.gov/recorddocuments/bill/21RS/sb254/orig_bill.pdf
Most of us supported the passage of "2nd Amendment Sanctuary Resolutions" in our home counties in the last two years. This is a real, enforceable state statute, not just a resolution. If your State Senator believed in the county resolutions they should have no problem supporting and co-sponsoring this bill. Call them and demand that they do so.
If you want this bill to pass you can call (800) 372-7181 and leave a message for your Senator and all the Senate Leadership that you support SB 254 and want it to be the law in Ky.

Thank you very much softpoint for keeping up up to date on the work being done in Frankfort.

It would be interesting to see if a.b. would veto it and let the General Assembly override, or if signing it would actually gain him something.

Interesting question. He may be getting tired of having his vetoes thrown back in his face. Now that he has escaped impeachment, he could be feeling more accommodating. In any case, I'd love for him to get the opportunity to decide to veto or not veto.
