My screen just took a dump
Backlight issue. Red hue, blank, barely visible. Is the backlight hard to work on, or is someone willing to give me an idea of cost to fix? I hate doing this from my Blackberry but at least I have a way to get it worked on, and read about guns :O) Help appreciated! Toshiba A135-S4407, Vista, 2gb, 100gb hd. I like it a lot. First issues from it ever. 4.5 years after purchase. |

Time for an upgrade. It will cost more to repair than to replace with new laptop. This has been my experience to date. YMMV

link sells the invertor. then you take the battery out, disassemble the screen, swap the invertor and hope the connector is the same. Some manufactors make them in different revisions... Then its no guarantee to fix it. Sometimes it does, sometimes it doesn't
i used to do this all the time. But its been probably 6 months. I live in Lexington. Costwise at the local stores would be the invertor, (no clue how they would mark them up. maybe twice whats on the website i gave you. then probably an hour labor) probably $100+ |

My laptop's screen is MIA but I am hooked up to an external right now. I have some parts coming and will be trying them out as soon as everything arrives. I may be purchasing a new PC soon....time will tell.
