Actually, the little berg Whittakers is in is called West Louisville but it's west of Owensboro and not over near Louisville as it's name would imply. |

At a little over three hours I will have to stand down from this one. It aint all that far from WHFRTC and I have to drive there monthly. Nothing personal, but I hate driving out to WKY. Nothing but pain and suffering out there.

I talked to Darrell Whittaker today and told him we wanted to do an ARFCOM shoot. He was really enthused about it! He knows AR15.com.
When do we want to do this? Are weekends best for everybody? Staurdays? How about 9AM on the 11th of Feb? Incidently, he told me that e was going to add 500 & 1000 yd target berms this summer!!!!! w00t!! |

No weekend is going to be good for everyone so its best to pick a day and go for it. Those who can make it will, those who can't can read about it .I bought my AR50 at Whittaker's about 6 years ago and he was going to push the range out to 1000 yards then. I wouldn't get too worked up about it until you see the dozer pushing dirt. Looking forward to meeting a few fellow Arfcommers soon. |

If you need a place to camp, there is a campground at the Diamond Lakes complex. I have no ida of the cost.

Not that I'm the only guy going, but 9am wouldn't be possible for me. Not because I'm a lazy ass.....I work early Saturday mornings. Push it up to around Noon and I'll be there! Or, if you think you guys will still be there around noon I'll make the trip. Darrel does get enthused when he sees $$$$$$. |

So it looks like THREE of us are going? Come on fellas, lets get some committment going here. Unless something happens, I'm planning on being there mid morning and will bring about 10 toys. AR-50, F/A MAC-10, couple of AR15's, AR10, AR180, and a few other things that fall out of the safe. Hope to see a good turn out.

I'll make it if I can, but I can't promise anything in that date and time frame, at this time anyway. Am currently having a house built, and I've got quite a few things I have to install and run once the other trades are roughed-in and before the drywall starts. The weekend of Feb 9th is right there where my window of timing is looking to be, I will just be playing it by ear until closer to the date.
I'd love to finally see this Whitaker's store, and being in Lexington I don't see me just passing by anytime other than for a shoot  . Hopefully you'll get a lot more folks (Indiana and KY) commiting closer to the date. |

Well there wasn't a shoot planned at Knob Creek today, but counted over 12 guys with AR's there. Finally figured out what was goofing mine up. A little windy today, but a day shooting beats a day mowing the lawn....

The toys are in their cases and ammo is all accounted for. I should be there by 10am. Guess Incendiary and Armor Piercing Incendiary won't be an issue with the snow

Well, considering only 4 ARFCOMERS showed up we still had a blast. A little snow, a little tannerite, a little full auto, a little suppressor, a little 50 BMG, a little black plastic, and plenty of wolf ammo... what more could you ask for on a cold snowy day. Great to meet the guys that showed up! Let's do it again when its warmer so the rest of the guys can make it out.

We all hit the shop. I bought some .308 and 8mm Mauser ammo but I don't know about the other guys stimulating Whittaker's economy. We also ate at the little joint across the road. Not a bad burger.

My buddy found a cherry 1942 Winchester 30 cal carbine at Whittakers before the shoot. Got a GOOD deal on it too!
