1500 rounds of rifle ammo!

$400 to enter the class, plus $750 worth of ammo.

Insane.

Anyone ever taken a class with David Kenik?  No disrespect to him, and I certainly don't know everything/everyone, but I've never heard of him.

You can't shoot 1800 rds of ammo in 2 days and expect to be doing anything more then blasting ammunition down range.

Just my worthless opinion.

Makes sense to me......
During the week I spent at the Sig Arms Academy for the Advanced Semi-Auto Pistol Instructor Course, I only went through 450rds. The course required 1000.
The Instructors spent more time actually teaching.

"Shooting" is not necessarily learning. Shooting is verification of your technique, which you must learn. Therefore in many classes round count is inversely proportional to the amount learned.

Some of the best training I have ever done only resulted in two boxes of ammunition fired down range.

Based on the course name it sounds like you were be trained as a trainer. I'd expect a lower round count for that kind of course.....also, you shot 45% of what you were told the round count for the course was. That'd be less than 700 rounds if this course worked that way. That's a little more than a weekend Appleseed, which had a lot of down time and was excellent training. It'd be fair to give them as much leeway as SigArms is getting.

OTOH, 1,500 rounds in two days is a lot.  I'd be interested in more course info....

(participant mode, not moderator mode here, BTW)

I'm not knocking the course for requiring that much ammo, I was just saying that in my experience, the more in-depth the instruction, the less ammo you tend to use.
Not saying that you can't get quality training AND send a ton of lead down-range......We all know how much fun that can be.

His website is www.armedresponsetraining.com/.  Since I know very little about Kenik as an instructor and his class, I chose to do the September Urban Rifle class with Weaponcraft instead.  I am definitely interested to hear people's feedback from the August Stag class.

I was being more of smart ass more than anything. It's just shame that folks like me who'd like to particapate in these things really can't because of messed up laws. Thanks for your offer, it is appreciated.

I'm just curious how the October class will run with a 3 gun match scheduled for the same dates at the same range.
