Raised S.B. No. 304 AN ACT CONCERNING COLORED HANDGUNS. Public Safety and Security Committee. To ban the possession, manufacture or sale of handguns that are coated with various colors. OPPOSE.  Public Hearing 02/28. CCS Testimony. This bill is a Chiefs of Police bill which in our opinion MAKES NO SENSE and has no documentation of any problem.

Raised S.B. No. 307 AN ACT CONCERNING TEMPORARY STATE PISTOL PERMITS. Public Safety and Security Committee. To require specific information in pistol permit applications. Public Hearing 02/28 This bill was opposed by the Chiefs because it standardizes local Permit Application requirements.

Proposed H.B. No. 5116 AN ACT APPROPRIATING FUNDS FOR A FIREARMS TRAFFICKING TASK FORCE. Introduced by: Rep. Robert M. Ward, 86th Dist.; Rep. Lawrence F. Cafero, 142nd Dist.; Rep. Claudia M. Powers, 151st Dist. To reinstate the state-wide firearm trafficking task force in order to focus law enforcement efforts and resources on the eradication of illegal firearms trafficking in this state. Referred to Joint Committee on Public Safety and Security 02/15. SUPPORT Public Hearing 02/28.  CCS Testimony. This bill was not RAISED, although it had a Public Hearing, and cannot be JF'd. Expect to see it included in other legislation.
