That one of y'all recommended me to get? Back when I was lookin for a bolt gun similar to the R700, I think it was a Savage 110. Was there any other recommendations?

not an savage affectionado but I think the 110 is the long action and the 10 is the short action, of course I'm prabably wrong on that.

I was looking at buying one of the academy stevens 200s ($179) that's from my understanding is the pre accutrigger savage for a build, MidwayUSA got adams/bennet 308 heavy barrels for $140, but they make a distinction of small/large shank that I have no idea of what it is

That's right, I think it was the savage 10, I think you mentioned the stevens to me last time. Are one or both of those in '06? I'm wantin a .308 but an '06 would be more economical since I don't load for .308... yet.

pretty sure the 110 is chambered in 06', and I know the stevens 200 is, the academy in norman only had 270win rifles left at the $179 sale price, but other stores may still have a 06' and/or other calibers available, I figure the stevens at $179 is a decent price for the base of a build since you'd most likely be changing barrels and stocks anyway.

last time I was at OA they had a savage 10 20" hvy barrel in the rack, didn't look at the price though, and basspro has/had the rem700 26" hvy barrel in the racks for $500 and rem had a $50 mail in rebate on them.

The 110 is the long action blue steel and the 10 is the short action blue steel. If it is a 116, it is a long action stainless steel. If it is the 16, it is the short action stainless.

I have a Savage 110 in 7mm mag and it is a bad ass!  I love the thing.  Very affordable rifle.  The ammo is rediculous, but that is the name of the game anymore.

I have the 110 .308 and it is a lot more accurate than I am.  Be sure to get the accu-trigger.

When is the sale over, and how long ago did they still have the .270s?

from what I've read it's the left over rifles from the black friday sales, as of last week when I checked the norman store they only had the 270win's left with tan stocks (didn't ask how many they had).

meant to check out the 74th street store today but I didn't get around to driving up there.
