A small rattlesnake about a foot and half long.

Stopped off at a smallgreen field I hunt from time to time, and was walking the trail when I saw it laying in the middle of the trial, the little sucker reared back and wanted to strike, so out came the .22 with rat shot and BAM, one dead rattlesnake.

First one I have seen out there.

Goddamn pigmy rattlers are a pain in the ass around here, there for a while at the first part of summer had to watch where I stepped in the morning, they were always laying out sunning on the concrete pad where I park,

in 05' the casino was over ran with them, little bastards were all over the place outside, some even made it inside the lobby only to die from a bashing.

I don't like copperheads, rattlesnakes, cottonmouths, and politicians.
They all need a good bashing.

Last weekend i found a little ring neck snake in my house by the front door. It must have crawled through when i had the storm door open. Got the broom and brushed it out to the flower bed by the front porch. I hate snakes, when i was younger i hated going into the chicken house to collect eggs because of huge black snakes that would come around every now and then. not to mention our hens were mean little things! I would get my brother to chase them out into the pen and lock the little door. lol Now that i look back on it, i was kind of girly girl for growing up on a farm.

I did love the cows and horses though!

"R" brings up a good point with this story. I hear a lot of people bad mouth .22 rat shot but I have had very good luck with it for pest control out here in the country.

I still have quite a large supply of the old all brass cased .22 shot shells and am using them up before I get into my stash of CCI shotshells. I use my "Acman Special" (Taurus 94) to dispatch bad snakes and other baddies around the place. The revolver comes in handy when using the shot shells.

I've used Speer 38 spl shot loads and they weren't worth a darn in killing a snake.
Now when we fish, I have a single shot 20 ga for that purpose.
As far as lawyers and other professional assholes/snakes, beating them to death with a hammer is would b a lot more fun and satisfying than just shooting them and leaving them lay.

Did you guys ever see the picture of that big rattler that was killed in Enid? The caption read that it was 9 feet, 1 inch long and weighed a whoppin' 97 pounds. That was one big snake. I have a picture but not the email anymore.
