Just a link I ran across this morning.... Click me! And oh, I was just looking at the ballistics on here....didn't realize it was something you can buy. And I'm still not even sure what it is, don't really care though.

theres one on I think Rguns.com or realguns.com, one of the two that will give you the theroretical drop out to 1k yards, you enter the BC, velocity and caliber of the bullet and the comp will print out a graph chart.

Rat, it tells you how much to hold over when shooting at distances greater than what you're rifle is sighted in at.
For instance, your rifle is sighted in at 200 yds. With the ballistics chart, you know how much to hold over at 500.  30/06 - 165 BTSP moving at 2800 fps - will need to be held over 48" at 500 yds. I used the holdover for 400 at a coyote at 480, hit in front of it, deflected up and hit the damn dog. If I'd used the right holdover, it would have been a straight on shot.
If you want to do precision shooting at longer distances, you MUST know your ballistics!
