Went one more time tonight looking for does. Colder this evening than it was this morning.
We saw some deer at DARK, too dark to shoot. I stopped and got the old man some hot chocolate to drink on the way back to his house. 4 does were standing in his driveway and he just chuckled.
The hot chocolate really hit the spot with the old man. I hauled some more wood into the house for him and stroked up the fire. He griped at me
about the way I put the wood in the stove.
He is one pickly old t*rd for 103! After I threatened to whip his old tired ass again, he waved his cane at me, told me to do it, then talk about it!
I said OK, if you ain't gonna be nice, I ain't gonna stop and get anymore hot chocolate with you anymore.
The next thing he said was "F*ck you!"
After we quit laughing, I told him I was headed home. Last thing he said - When you comin' back?
It's hard to explain, but hunting with that old man has been enjoyable for several years now. Even the boys (my son and a couple of others) enjoy the old man when I get him going. The fun and comradeship of deer hunting has been a great blessing to me and I am ONE LUCKY SOB for all the fun I have had!
