Those are ARs! I thought black rifles were AKs!
Nice rifles, though!
Me, I'm a little partial to M14 variants!

I'd like to do an SPR in 7.62!!!  I may put that down on my build list for the near future.  What kind of mags are used?

Get Ndenway in on that subject. He has an Armalite AR10 that is pretty damn accurate from what I saw. It uses an altered M14 mag. I believe DPMS or somebody  makes a lower receiver in 308 that will use unaltered M14 mags.

like D said the armalites/eagles use the modified m14 mags, their around $38 ea. with the armalite follower, the bushies and asa use fal mags(metric I believe)$4ea., and the dpms uses the sr 25 style, they now have a 20rnd.  metal mag to replace the 10rnd. poly, but it runs something like $50.

its probably cheaper to buy a new rifle outright than try to build one, the dpms is the cheapest at around $850+ from online stores, the eagles are around $950, and armalites base models A4 about $1100 and T models start around $1500+, and the bushies I've seen in the metro are all $1600+,  the only upper/ lowers I've seen offered were the armalite/eagles for $250 ea. and M1S had armalite "only" kreiger 26" target barrels for $650, the only parts that interchange between the different brands are the FCG and grips/stocks.
the barrels, upper/lowers bolt/carrier will not interchange, their not standardized like the 15 series.
fwiw OA has the cheapest prices on the 10s and BARs in the metro,(gave $1050 for my A4 carbine) but H&H also carries a few of the BARs, and afaik armalite is the only co. offering the collapable carbine stock at this time from the factory, theres a member(slash I think) on the board thats mfg. buffers for the 10 series that allows the use of 15 series stocks to be used.

my 10 took some break in time, and has to be ran wet, ask anyone thats seen it, if  the bolt isn't dripping with oil, the bitch will short stroke every time, but lube it up good and it will eat anything I put in it, as for accuracy, if I'm doing my part and also shoot good ammo it will put three inside of a inch at 100yrds. and five shot groups are a joke, the barrel gets hot fast and cause the group to open up to around 1 7/8th, but even with the indian surplus it will group around three inches or less.

My latest.

The RRA M4 just wears irons now and I don't have the AK with the wirefolder below anymore.

Another pic of the Saiga 12 with an 8rd mag.

My PTR-91.  I was having issues with the claw mount so it has a B&T mount now.  I ordered a clone US made MSG90 buttstock for it that should be here soon.

Well I don't really have free time lately.  I just started Dental School and the first 6 weeks during the summer is an INTENSE clinical anatomy course.  I'll have a week off starting the 8th of August, but then I'll start a 25hr credit semester  .  If you or Rat Terrier are close to OKC/Norman Area and want to try it out I'd be more than happy to let you.  I am a member at Tri-City Gun Club which is a private outdoor range just south of Norman.  I can take guests anytime.  Just let me know in advance.

That's funny I live right off of 19th as well.   Just let me know.  There's a 200m rifle, 80m rifle, 25m pistol, and shotgun range.  There's lots of target stands.  The 200m range has probably about 20 tables, there's steel gongs for centerfire/sillouetes for rimfire and pistols.  All the ranges besides the shotgun range have a roof built over the tables for shade.  It's pretty nice compared to the other places I've been.

My AR's.  The Colt 16" is work-issued.  The other two (DPMS DCM and Armalite flat top that I free-floated and dropped a RRA trigger into) are mine.  The scope on the Armalite is an IOR 4x24 M2 w/ CQB reticle.
