I live near Albemarle County, and when I just went to look up Charlottesville's sister city, I discovered that they have 4 of them:
Poggio a Caiano, Italy, became Charlottesville's first sister city in 1976
Pleven, Bulgaria (2004), and
Besancon, France (2006), and
Winneba, Ghana (2010)
The only one that makes sense to me is the one in Ghana, since that's where Jonestown was, and visiting C'Ville kinda reminds me of what that experience must have been like.
I see that you guys got C'Ville beat. Roanoke actually has
seven Sister Cities. There's no clean Copy/Paste list for me to do because it's all in graphics. The cities are in Brazil, Kenya, China, Poland, Russia, France and Korea.
The Roanoke Sister Cities Council responded to Youngkin's statement:
“
We do not get involved with politics nor take a political stand on any issue,” the letter reads. “Our people-to-people relationships are the best way for us to demonstrate to the people of Pskov and Russia at large that the citizens of the Roanoke Valley and the American people are not their enemies, nor do we consider them to be ours.”
I'm sure that's a big relief to the peoples of the world.
When we played our charade
We were like children posing
Playing at games, acting out names
Guessing the parts we playedThe theme song of Virtue-Signalers everywhere.
