The Virginia Commissioner for Public Health issued a directive that all school children, in public and private schools, must wear masks.

How does a “public” commissar derive the power to issue a mandate to a private school?  This breaks my heart.  I don’t see any push back from our “Shepherds” either.

I implore you to stop donating or tithing money to any church that fails to stand up for its flock.

They will be judged before God for their sins.

Just saw that as well.  No churches will be pushing back.  No lawsuit will succeed so no one will waste the money.

This is a pure power play by the .gov.   it is a reaction to several large systems voting earlier this week to make masks optional.

Every parent should withdrawal their children from public school.

 After all schools are funded based on enrollment.  

You know you don't have to comply, right? What are they going to do? Send your kid home?

You missed the ops point.  The new proclamation affects all schools.  Most of the large public schools were going along with the charade any way.  Catholic schools were not mandating them.  This morning they announced they will follow the new proclamation.

To the other poster avove regarding your kids not complying, that may work for a high schooler but it is a lot to put on a 10 year old or younger.  As adults we should shoulder the burden, not push it to young children.

I understand what you are saying.  Just because you withdraw from public school does not mean you go to catholic or any other school.    

Having tens of thousands of kids drop out of school would put massive pressure on this regime to change.  

But then again so would showing up to vote.

My wife (probably correctly) pointed out that they waited until after the school year started to make these "proclamations."

Which means the school system probably has already gotten credit for this year's enrollment, and qualified for the federal funding at that enrollment level.

If parents want this abuse to stop they need to vote for republicans in November.

Exceptions to this Order include: A. Individuals eating, drinking, or sleeping;
B. Individuals exercising or using exercise equipment;
C. Any person who is playing a musical instrument when wearing a mask would inhibit the playing of the instrument (e.g., wind or brass instrument) so long as at least six feet of physical distance can be maintained from other persons;
D. Any person who has trouble breathing, or is unconscious, incapacitated, or otherwise unable to remove the mask without assistance;


Any person who declines to wear a mask because of a medical condition or any person with a sincerely held religious objection to wearing masks in school may request a reasonable accommodation.

Enrollment is based upon first week attendance.

It appears a lot of agencies are overstepping their boundary on issuing mandates. How does the CDC issue a halt on eviction? How does a public health commissioner able to issue orders on private schools? Nobody will explain really.

Recently they took the CDC order to court and the judge essentially said that the CDC is probably over stepping their boundary but they didn't really care about it. We have to wait until it goes to the supreme court to see what will happen.

Point is the public health commissioner probably did over step his authority but nobody is going to care.

It seems like nobody is questioning things anymore and the media is quick to shoot down people by explaining "science" as facts. It seems like everyone has to come on TV with a warning that it can happen to you or that the CDC somehow knows more than you so you better listen to them.

This is why I closed my business of 13yrs and moved to Texas in June . It breaks my heart to see the Old Dominion fast becoming New York South. ??
