I don't have an F'burg or Stafford recommendation specifically. I'm up in Prince William Country and used Prince William Engraving and Awards to engrave my SBR lower. They are in a little strip mall next to Potomac Mills, did it while I waited, and were reasonably priced, $45 if I recall. Recommend to call ahead.

Ended up going with Potomac Engraving in Dumfries after trying a few trophy shops with no luck. Nice guy, great price ($40), quick turn around (an hour or so), but probably wouldn't recommend them because I don't think they're set up for hardcoat anodized aluminum. The engraving turned out extremely light…

It would be a lot of work to post photos because of some settings I put on our router, but I'll tell you that it's perceptible with a fingernail but just barely and more visible from certain angles.

I send all of my items to Tarheel State Firearms. It's less than a week usually. Send out Monday and always have had it back by Monday again

As requested here is a pic of the engraving I had done at Potomac. I didn't select the size and turned out a little big and it is just a little shy of parallel with the panel lines. It meets the ATF requirements, hopefully me and my trustees are the only ones who will ever see it, and the price was right.

I was expecting them to have a font more the size of the manufacturer's markings. I guess I'll do some calling around this week to find a place local and see if I can get them to provide some example photos or something. |

I'm getting the lower and upper Cerakoted and used their website to find someone local. Happens that the company just invested in a laser and is doing engraving as well. Dropped everything off today and should have it back in 2-3 weeks. When I get it back I'll start a thread as a review.

And indeed, they do. Nothing fancy. This is for my minimalist, light “urban carbine.”  Edit: if you’re doing a fancy replica build or something you probably want to send to one of the usual suspects. If you want to do vanity or legally required engraving for a modest fee and grab a good lunch or beer while you wait, Highflyer is recommended. |
