Six inches so far in Berryville, how about you guys?
A thick layer of sleet here just west of Staunton. Prime conditions for power lines and trees to ice!
Wife says a little ice in western Roanoke Co. Not too bad, hopefully.
Just a little ice in Lynchburg.
We were just laughing at that facemask full of snow, Bonk!
working on a nice sheet of ice here in Spotsy, no snow seen yet.
About 3" in central Loudoun. Been listening to my scanners all day. Crashes all over the place.
Plenty of rain, but no snow on the middle peninsula ... You guys can keep that stuff out there.
Nopefully not too much here... Been stuck at work since 6am in a windowless basement and don't get out till 6pm. Hopefully the roads aren't too bad.
little over 6 up here, waiting for it to ice over. Was already slick earlier. Already called in tomorrow.
We had right around 6" here in Strasburg. Turned to sleet/freezing rain about 3 hours ago. Still coming down a little.
What are the odds of the rain coming at 1AM to turn this all into a nice glaze of ice? It's staying below freezing.
Front Royal - 3 inches of snow and a half inch of ice granules.

According to the forecasts I have been seeing here in NoVa, that is exactly what will be happening. View Quote View All Quotes View All Quotes Quoted:

According to the forecasts I have been seeing here in NoVa, that is exactly what will be happening. If it does, I guess my wife won't be going to work tomorrow. Or, if she does, she'll never make it back up our driveway. I'm hoping that the temp will rise, and starting tomorrow AM it will be regular rain that will wash all this ice shit away. |

Not everyone else is in this boat but as a fed, I don't mind free leave/ice days.

I believe even if the govt closes, you then have to telework. No more days of "closed." View Quote View All Quotes View All Quotes Quoted:

No snow accumulation, but very icy down here in Ruckersville. Like DK, I'm hoping it warms up and melts off tomorrow - I loaned my 4WD Tacoma to a friend earlier this week and the '68 mustang in the garage is not very ice-friendly.
I can easily telework though, so that's a plus. |
5 inches of snow here in NW Loudoun County, with a topping of about 1/2 inch of ice crystals. If the freezing rain hits here tonight as per the forecast, it's going to be a bitch getting to work tomorrow.
7" West of Winchester, sleet covered.Plow cable broke on 4wheeler,wanted to quit anyway.
Winter sucks. FBHO. |
Approx. 4in in Manassas with a nice crunchy layer on top. Kind of raining/ freezing rain right now. Just walked the bulldogs. They love the snow.
Just drove home on Fairfax County Parkway through Reston/Herndon. They're behind in plowing. That's a major thoroughfare. If that doesn't improve the whole commute will be crap tomorrow!
Quarter inch of ice on my truck in Lynchburg, but right now it's just rain/sleet.
Everyone here is hoping the temp drops by 10-15 degrees overnight so Liberty cancels finals Not gonna happen.... |

View Quote Good to know. Haven't left the house all day here in Haymarket. Already let work know I'll be teleworking tomorrow. Hope it doesn't get too warm too fast tomorrow so I actually get some time to go sledding with the kids. |
Lost power about an hour and a half ago, when a transformer loudly blew nearby.
We got about an inch and a half of snow, and another half of ice covering everything on top of that. The trees look beautiful, but obviously not so useful in terms of downed branches. Running on the generator right now. At least the wireless network in the house is working fine. ETA: Power's back on. Was barely even worth getting the generator out. If I had known it would only be a couple of hours I would just have stayed under the covers in bed. |
Clifton / fairfax station. We just lost power about 30 minutes ago. Was teleworking so I can't do that anymore.
In Christiansburg we got about 1/2" of ice and no snow. It's all melting now. What a let down. It never even stuck to the roads.
Fredericksburg we just had a bunch of sleet and then freezing rain.
This morning the trees and such were covered in ice (lost some branches) but the roads and such were just wet. Yesterday we just made a fire in the fireplace and did Christmas decorating all day. |
2-3" of snow and a minimum of .25" of ice. Tree limbs started dropping around 0500 and continue to this point. Too dangerous to get out with the chainsaw.
Nothing but ice covered car's this morning and lots of branches on the ground in & around ballston .
And a couple furry wet mutts running around outside then inside |
What we had in Fluvanna melted off the roads pretty fast. The Jeep was frozen over pretty good this morning though. No problems getting into Charlottesville. Theyre calling for 1" to 4" of snow tonight / tomorrow morning.
522 North is closed heading towards Winchester from Berkeley Springs. (right before hunting ridge road)
I got the honor of turning around and going the wrong way so I could take an alternate route to work. fun fun fun. |
Sunday we got about 7-8" in woodstock. 1/4" of ice on top.
Right now we have about 2" on the ground, Its still coming down heavy right now. Work is closed. Be safe guys. |

About 5" just N of Winchester. It stopped snowing abt an hr ago.
Fredericksburg was lame. We were supposed to get 1-2 inches. It rained, then it snowed for a bit, then it rained. Now everything is gone.

Scraped two inches of ice off the car. No way I'm gonna ride my bike. Nearly slipped walking out to my car
