Virginia man who was among four Christian activists kidnapped last year in Iraq has been killed, a State Department spokesman said last night.

The FBI verified that a body found in Iraq yesterday morning was that of Tom Fox, 54, of Clear Brook, Va., spokesman Noel Clay said. He had no information on the other three hostages.
The spokesman said he did not know how Mr. Fox was killed but that additional forensics will be done in the United States. The U.S. Embassy in Baghdad is investigating, he said.

Jeez, apparently no one much gives  a tinkers damn.  Sorry he lost his life but he was pretty much asking for it.  When lambs lie down with jackals, the lambs don't get back up.
Shame he had to die for being a knucklehead.

Since he likes to coddle Paley terrorists, and was over there to reach out to the AQ types or some such nonsense, you won't find me crying about it.

kaiheitai17 had the right quote: When lambs lie down with jackals, the lambs don't get back up.

Far as I'm concered this was about as bright as if a Jew thought that WW2 was a bad idea, went to go reach out to the oppresed Nazis, and then discovered they don't much like Jews. Stupidity hurts.

I tend to give credit to people overseas who are actually DOING something to help (whether or not it's in the military), and hate to see another American killed in the process of doing what they thought was right over there.  However, then I read this:

Christian Peacemaker Teams had been investigating accusations that U.S. and Iraqi forces abused Iraqi detainees. Its teams host human rights conferences in conflict zones, promoting peaceful solutions.
Mr. Slattery said Mr. Fox worked on three major projects: helping families of incarcerated Iraqis; escorting shipments of medicine to clinics and hospitals in Fallujah; and helping form Islamic Peacemaker Teams.

Now I'm just sorry to bear this man's namesake .  Just what we need - another group making up things that our enemy is laughing at every time we use the word "abuse," and actually aiding and abetting the enemy's families, making it easier on them to wage terror on us.  Bah.

Definition of Irony: Human Rights Group Member goes overseas to document instances of prisoner abuse of Iraqis (Hajji) by American troops, instead is captured by Iraqis and is subjected to Prisoner abuse of Americans by Iraqis.

True , If he was supporting the enemy he got what was coming to him. My prayers go out to the boys (and women) that are doing the right thing over there.
