You know that scene in A Christmas Story where Ralphie talks about his Dad fighting the furnace? In the heat of battle my father wove a tapestry of obscenities that as far as we know is still hanging in space over Lake Michigan. That quote goes through my mind every time I see gas prices go up along with assorted random thoughts.
