I was wondering if anyone knew a local place that refinishes pistols.

Local meaning NOVA!

Had several rifles done by them. Very nice work.

I just got my 1911 back from Tripp Research
They aren't local, but they do excellent work and have a quick turnaround.

There is someone in Northern VA and they do great work. The shop is called Northern Virginia gun works. They are in the Springfield area and advertise in the yellow pages. They do blueing as well as grey/green parkerizing. Pricey but excellent quality work. They did a great job on a Chandler rifle I used to own. Give them a try. They are not the friendliest bunch but just be nice and respectful and they'll do a good job for you.

He used to be in Lorton.  I'm not sure if his shop is Amissville, or he is....

Anyway....

I used him to refinish a Sig 226 and it was pretty darn good.  I think longshot_va, used him for a re-park on a rifle.
