I'm kinda tired of paying shipping on my ammo... anywhere round here carry ammo at a reasonable price?
mainly 40 and 45 needed. |
really? What kinda cash am i lookin at vs midway:
wolf 45 7.90 box CCI 40 7 a box |
that's ridiculous. I'm pretty sure the NRA can beat that and ceterfire systems will send me a thousand of wolf for 130 free shipping. Guess the answer to my original question is no, huh?
I've used Wolf before and can say yes Value pack (Win White box) might be just as dirty as Wolf but it's more accurate.
I placed 4th using Value pk 9mm in SSP at Shooters Paradise last week. I placed 4th overall and 4th in my division and was the most accurate shooter in the match. guns.wicked96ss.com/20050302_IDPA_Results_overall.html guns.wicked96ss.com/20050302_IDPA_Results.html I think Wal-Marts price on .40 Value pks is just under $17 (100 rounds) and .45 is just under $21 (100 rounds), 9mm is right around $11 (100 rounds) |
Outside of WWB at Wal-mart, I buy most everything online. I get my carry ammo at VA Arms when I make it out to Manassas.
Yeah me too I like Winchester Ranger 127gr+P+ in 9mm and Winchester Ranger 230gr +P in .45 ACP. |
Like others have said, the good deals are all online. There are occasional deals like back when you could get Q3131A really cheap at Galyan's but those are occasional. All of the local gunshops are good for picking up a box or two to try something out but if you want bulk it's time to fire up the web browser of your choice.
Besides GunShows and Reloading I find that there is no cheaper place than AmmoMan. He is in NJ and if I call the order in the morning I receive it two days later.
a lot of nice things can be said about ammoman, but "cheaper" is not one of them IMO |
+1 I find that you simply cannot beat midwayusa for under-case amounts. (for +P HP rounds, soooooometimes sportsmans guide will have some good deals on magtech or remington personal defense ammo. but of course it goes FAST) I'm staring at this ad in SGN for centerfire systems. Anyone hear of them, order from them? |
He often is cheaper though. Obviously not always but often. I can often find one or another specific round cheaper from somewhere else but if I'm buying 2 or 3 different types of ammo then the whole order is generally cheapest from Ammoman. That 'free' shipping helps too. |

WE are going to change that....We're going to have AMMUNITION by the PALLET in our new shop......We have a place for it, just no ammo yet!
Sweet. Let us know when it's in. |
To quote the movie ....
If you build it, we will buy Or is that if you stock it, we will pick up Or is that If I buy it, I will shoot it Aw, nevermind, I'm all messed up now. Seriously, I know many of us who will make the drive for the right deal. It would be fantastic to have a "local" source for our needs. |
Believe me, we are working very, very hard to find a source of QUALITY ammo which can deliver on a consistant basis. The ammo market is very much a "commodity" industry, with prices changing daily.
We'll get it figured out, and when we do, we'll have tractor-trailors bringing the stuff in.... |
Heck, I'd settle for a source of crappy ammo with spotty availability. Are you going to stock Wolf? |
Black Hills Mk262 {5.56 NATO} cosmetic blems would be a good start....... Unless you could get NATO 77gr Mk262....... |

I have a thought on that and just to share is the only reason I will post this. If said local dealer is selling a case of {insert your ammo here} for the same price as shipped ammo, via the internet plus additional Virginia sales tax to bring the total above the Internet price shipped. I believe people will order the ammunitions before paying more in store, I hope we can depend on you as a supplier of ammunition rather than spending our money out of state. Did I make any sense? |
Wrong! NRA Range prices for a 50 round box are something like $8 for 9MM, $10 for .40 S&W, and $12 for .45 ACP. On the downside, Wal-Mart is frequently out of value-packs! Edited to correct mistakes! |
Is this just new ammo (5.56)? How about surplus 308 or 8mm? Either way I'll be stopping by a lot I hope! |
Someone was telling me that the NRA Range will offer case discounts. Who was that?
Hi All:
Did some quick checking today, and so far the numbers look good. I believe we'll be able to beat AMMOMAN's pricing on factory ammo w/o much of a problem. Some of the Wally-World ammo might be a bit tougher, but try picking up a Beta-C mag while you're in WalMart! Anyway, we'll have pallets of factory FMJ 9mm, .45ACP, .40S&W, 5.56 and 7.62. What else? |
7.62X39 along with the 51 |
I don't know if they normally do it but when you're taking a class there they have American Eagle pistol ammo by the case at decent prices. They also had some Federal XM193 that I bought when I was taking a pistol class. I paid something like $160 or $170 for a 1000 of XM193 and I think $140 for case of 9mm AE. |
Any chance for Surplus 8mm? Probably not a big seller to normal everyday shoppers but my 1919 loves it. How about 50bmg? Talon? |
yes, please! that would be awesome. |
I know I'm in with the rifle crowd here, but how bout some 12ga? bird, buck and slug. |
30/06 for those who shoot Garands or unconverted 1919's. 7.62x54 would be nice to have available. I never see it anywhere in case lots except at gunshows. That's probably better if you cater to C&R guys though. |
Hey Chapper... did you ask Faroukh? I usually don't waste his time with 5.56, but he seems to have some good distrubutors lined up for pistol ammo.
you know I never thought of that, but am going to pick up some stuff in teh next few days. will inquire for us all.
+1 and 5.45! |
Any interest in CASE LOTS of 5.56, 7.62NATO or 30.06 or .50BMG tracer?
Edited to add CASE LOTS. |
Of course. |
Hey, you're giving me a good reason for that M2HB I want. Of course no place around here to light off tracers so maybe I'm safe. |
Why yes, yes we would. |
Is there any other way to buy? |
+2 on 5.45
As I posted in another thread. ___________________________________ My self indulgent bulk ammo request is that you sell 1000rd. cases of Wolf 5.45x39 60gr. FMJ for I have seen it sell out long before anything else at all of the gun shows this year, that is, if it can be found. _____________________________________ Personally, I am into instant gratification after a shopping experience. In another words, I can see myself regularly going into your new store and buying a case of 9mm, a case of 5.45 and a case of 5.56 along with some other ubertactical item you are selling. I am getting an SMG, so that might be 3 cases of 9mm. |
OKAY folks, I'm wearing full body armor, knee and elbow pads, a nomex suit and a helmet so I'm prepared for this...
Is Quantico Arms in/near Quantico? Sounds like they are good people and I am needing more 193 than I thought. |
Yes we are....A little history....
My wife and I started Quantico Arms & Tactical Supply while both on active duty. The idea was to open a small shop, be open a day or two a week and sell a few guns, so we opened a small shop in the town of Quantico. The town of Quantico is COMPLETELY surrounded by the base. To get to it, you have to drive 3 miles inside the base. Now, several years later, I'm retired and decide to do this full time. We're opening our new 12,000sqft facility (warehouse/showroom/admin space) near Potomac Mills and a 4,000sqft facility in North County San Diego. Although we carry TONS of stuff now, we are severally limited by space. That will not be the case with the new shop. To fill the new shop, we are bringing on TONS of new brands and stuff. For example: -- I have $40,000 worth of Eagle Industries gear waiting to be put on display. -- We ARE going to order ammo by the tractor trailorload and sell it by the case. It is impossible to do everything at once, and I cannot reveal too much of our plan, but suffice it to say that you'll want to stop by our shop every couple weeks for the foreseeable future! One thing that we're particularly proud of is the BRANDS we've allied ourselves with and have on our GSA Schedule. Those brands include: 5.11 Tactical Wear AimPoint Benchmade CamelBak CQB/Specter Gear Eye Safety Systems GG&G Laser Devices Lewis Machine and Tool Oregon Aero QuikClot SLIP 2000 In addition, you can pretty much find EVERYTHING made by the following companies in our shop: Blackhawk/Hydrastrom/Hellstorm/CQC CRKT Pelican SureFire Uncle Mikes BUT, right now, we have almost no ammunition. Probably just enough to keep people from robbing us
Well, you CLEARLY have a customer base (excuse the pun) here on arfkom.... I'm also a fan of buying ammo in person. Something about tearing it open right when i pay for it...
Anyhow, good luck and let us know when you're operational! |
if you mean cases of 500 - 2000 rounds and up, well.... DUH! How else do you think we buy this stuff... especially M193. I would also be interested in a case 74gr SMK or TAP. |
Man, I just bought a house in Woodbridge. 12,000 sq ft of fun not far away is going to be hell on the checkbook. Damn.....
