Welcome aboard Chris.....

I stop in Woodstock EVERY time I head south on I-81...which is often now since my fiance's family is in Roanoke.

Welcome Chris to ARFCOM!

Glad to see you've found our hometown forums.
www.ar15.com/forums/forum.html?b=8&f=24 This is a great place to find out about local Virginia shooting events, sales, gun shows and pending legislation that directly effects Virginia residents.

C4iGrant is a great local Virginia dealer to buy from when it comes time for your optics, AR accesories, gear, knives, Surefire flashlights and weapon lights and so on.www.ar15.com/forums/topic.html?b=7&f=25&t=191884&w=searchPop

Hey guys, that's cool that some of you have been, to or know of, Woodstock.  I've been trying to find a public outdoor range to shoot at for a while now, anyone know of any between Manassass and Staunton?  I use my field, but I can only get 100 yds max of safe shooting space, not much fun when I wanna shoot my .308.  Thanks and have a good one.

There is nothing between Manassas and Staunton but a bunch of houses that are too close together to allow a proper range and that are inhabited by too many people who don't shoot.

Your best bet is to head down to one of the Forest Service ranges.

I hear ya, I think I'll check out the new range I read about in the paper...Forest Service project, 'Sighting-In' range I believe.
