Looks like we need to purchase at least 10K rounds of eavh caliber to get any appreciable discount over case pricing.

I need:

9 mm
.45
.223
.270

Anybody interested? I'd be willing to do all the legwork.

I am always in for 1k of .223.

If the dam S/A battle packs ever come back I would do 10k

Edited : I just picked up a large package of .223 so I dont think I will need any for along time. Always on the look out for a bargin

.45 depends on the maker and type but 1k is always on the radar.

Looks like I will need some .40 too ,1k

Anyone try the South African / Denel stuff that Cole's has in the 2880 rd. tubs?  It looks like the same stuff I had three years ago when I first bought bulk ammo.  There were a few threads on it, but I can't get search to work right now.  I have enough trouble getting Priority Mail envelopes and small UPS packages at my apartment, let alone a crate of ammo.  But if someone had, say, a house and a really big truck...

Or, just in from AMMOMAN:
Lake City 223 on sale.
Please read carefully:
PACKED LOOSE FROM THE ARMY AMMUNITION PLANT.
Plain and simple, we have 196,000 of the USGI 223 you all know and love, but they ran out of boxes. They packed this in cases of 1000 rounds
until they got more boxes in.
We got it all.
$189-1000 delivered to your door.
$358-2000 delivered to your door.

I got a house, AND a well trained UPS guy lol.

I could probably use some 9mm, but I can't afford a case right now.

BTW, sligthly off topic, but I'm getting ready to do a powder buy with a couple of guys; if anyone needs powder/primers, let me know.

Well guy's I'm finding out that you have to buy like 30-40K and up round's to get any kind of a break above and beyond what we're used to paying when you just buy 1K cases.

I'm still looking and will post pricing and amounts when I get it all figured out.

once you get some solid details you may hae people signing on. I could always use some ammo. Think now I need some 7.62 NATO to feed the M1A , but would not pass up a case of .45 or .223 for a good price

We discussed this awhile back and I had looked into the same thing even before that. The problem is the large amount of ammo required to have any real savings. Plus the ammo will have to be shipped into one central place and everyone will either have to pay shipping or drive and pick up the ammo. Unless there is major savings on a case then the double shipping or trip could put the price out of reach.

Thanks Anthony!

I have been thinking about that.

I figured I'd make this a Tidewater Virginia only ammo purchase. Once the ammo gets here to my house I'm not going to ship it all over the state. The guy's who participate in it will have to come here to get it.

[federal officer]Gee Mr. bvmjethead, why is it you're shipping ammo all over the state of Virginia?[/federal officer] NO THANKS.

I'm not giving up just yet.

It's like I said. If I can walk into a local gun store and get a case of ammo for $179 and by buying 10,000 rounds of ammo I can only get it for $169.

Why should I come off $1690 of my own money to save YOU guy's $10 a case on ammo.

Doesn't make sense does it?

If you do it, do it in two shipments:

One to Tidewater and one to NoVA.

By keeping it local you lose nothing by getting the $10/1000 discount.  Saving $10 is saving $10...

Now if you were able to split the shipment and do as I mentioned you may increase your volume tremendously.
