So now that I'm going to be a Virginian, I figure I'm going to need to know a 2AM, just defended my life and will need advice kind of guy.

Plus I'll be needing someone to do my closing when I get a house again, marital stuff probably and all the other general lawyer type functions.

If I can get a guy like I have up here that would be sweet.  He's a retired detective, knows all the locals, knows a LOT of different parts of the legal business, is very accessible and very personable.  A very good guy all around.

Anyone have suggestions or know a guy?  Preferrable Eastern VA since that's where I'm 99% going to be.  Not still sure where my permanent residence will be until both me and the GF have permanent jobs.

Send Steve-in-VA an IM.  He's a lawyer, and I think he's in the Tidewater area.  He may be able to refer you to someone.
