I cannot get the pins out of my front sight post and I want to install a one piece free float rail.
I intend or replacing the gas block with a low profile one.

I made the mistake of starting the pins with light taps.  I know, my bad.

Any recommendations on someone knowledgeable and qualified to fix my mistake?

Thanks

The first thing you need to figgure out is, are they tapered or straight pins. This varries from mfg to mfg. After that take a hammer and punch and smack the crap out of them. Make sure you support the site base and the barrel so you dont bend the barrel.

It is a DelTon upper and I was going from left to right.

I guess mebbe the best thing to to build a jig to hold the barrel and pound away.

Thanks

Use some Kroil on the pins.  Saturate the area and let it soak overnight.
Support the sight and give the pins a good square shot.  Be sure to use the appropriate size punch too.

You in Rockford, or in the surrounding area?

Work in Rockford, Harlem and 2nd.  Up here 3 days a week.
The Bullet Stop doesn't do this kind of work.

Limited tools at home but I might have a line on some help from someone at work.

Not F Marked and going to keep it in case I decide to go back.

Thanks for the suggestions.

A little bit of a drive, maybe 25-30 minutes west,  but they are a great little shop in Forreston.

Just a small shop, but he sells a ton of Barrett rifles.  Lots of accessories as well.

I ended up drilling out the pins but appreciate the suggestions.

Might have to make a trip to Forreston.
