Quoted: My bet is CPD and ISP will not play nice together. All show and no go comes to mind.

The blue shirts tend to get along (OK, I know ISP has tan ones
)
Remember, the ISP allows retired CPD guys to qualify for HR218 carry, since Dimwit Daley refuses to make allowances for them to do it via CPD.
That said, It's only a matter of time before the brass will butt heads over jurisdiction and priorities.
I have no problem with them going after real straw purchasers ("I'd like to buy 15 Lorcin .25's, please") and gang bangers selling stolen guns. Hell, maybe they can find the ones I had stolen.
But what I worry about is a "re-direction" towards what Dimwit peceives as undesirable, as opposed to what the law says is actually illegal, and with the recent "creative interpretations" of the FOID branch*, I don't think my tinfoil is showing.
* I'm thinking of the Peterson and Stebic cases, where no charges have been filed, but FOIDs were revoked "at the request of Law Enforcement".
