Friends:

It’s time to start planning the April Blastfest. Following tradition, we should have our Blastfest on a Sunday. We have the following dates to pick from:

Sunday, April 2
Sunday, April 9
Sunday, April 16
Sunday, April 23
Sunday, April 30

Maybe somebody more literate with the technical side of the board can set up a poll.
Thank you,

I am looking forward to seeing you all after this long winter.
Regards,
FRIZ

How about a new tradition of doing it on a Saturday once in a while for the church folk?

Hi handyandy:
The last one was on Saturday.

I voted for the two later dates. Early April can be really messy with rain and mud.
The bad news is, the dirtbike club I belong to has a few events in the spring (which I should work). I don't have the new schedule yet so all dates are iffy.

And on the seventh day God created Blastfest. Doesn't your church have Saturday night service? Mine does, you're welcome to accompany my family to Messiah Lutheran.

We were out there in February. The high tempature was 9 degrees. I think it was 9 degrees for like fifteen minutes.

St. Paul  Lutheran , has a Wed. night service , it's  on the outskirts of Leonore , Home of the Smitty Burger.    Not too far from the range either.   Pork Tenderloins bigger than your head , too.

I just ate,    now I want more food.   Nah, didn' t puke it out.

So, is it April 23d or 30th?  Personally I'd prefer the 23d.

We have three services Sunday, nothing Saturday. BTW, the seventh day is Saturday, the traditional/Jewish sabbath.

Look in the photo archive tacked to the top of this forum for pictures of Blastfests past.  Its basically a gathering of people from this site to shoot at Buffalo Range in Ottawa, IL.

Here's the webpage for the RANGE.  It's $20 to get in for the day.   They have 100/75/50 yard rifle sight in, a shotgun, and pistol ranges and the "Pit", where you can throw out your own physical targets (except glass, metal, tannerite targets, or tracer/inciendiary fire)

Ya know, I never thought of that. You're right, the seventh day is Saturday. It has always been hard for me to consider Sunday the first day of the week.

I'm in on the 23rd. Lets try to set a time to all meet. Last summer I went down there for one of these I couldn't tell who was who.

Keep an eye out for the big AR15.COM sign. It's a hint we may be near. The last ones to show up get to stand on my right at the firing line. Free hot brass showers!

Here's a thought: bring a huge blue tarp!  Can you image the quantity of brass you could collect at one blastfest?  Course the tarp would probably get torn to shreds between people's feet and all the old spent cases under foot.

+1

I think that fact that there is no rifle match that day, only pistol and shotgun, and the 2 hour drive to TCGC is going to swing me towards blastfest.

Where you from?  If we opt for Tri-county, we could possibly carpool.

Uh...since you felt it necessary to speak for me, can you explain these statements?

Why would my minor disagreement in political ideology prevent me from driving either of those two individuals to the shooting match if we lived close together and were both heading there?

That would make no sense.
