In theory, you should be able to buy ammo in Illinois without and FOID if you are not a resident. In practice, I doubt you'll find many who will sell it to you. |

all you need is an out of state drivers lic. have done it many times wheni returned from living in florida for a couple of years.
reason it is realitivly easy is, you cannot take ammo on an airplane, but you can take firearms. i never had a problem |

I also have bought quite a bit of ammo here before I came a resident. But then again I also travel with ammo on an aircraft quite a bit to. It just has to be full boxes

Yes you can buy with out of state license.
You certainly can take ammo on an airplane in your checked baggage. Just can't ship it commercially via air. |
