I went a couple weeks ago, weekday afternoon, had to wait outside to be let in. No other customers in the store.

I consider myself a very consistent shooter and there are really only three stores that I use. I really don't pay attention to others.
NFA ( one of my 3 ) is pretty popular, so maybe its a bit of that. |

My guess would be capacity and or amount of employees able to help those inside the store and to prevent looting/theft.

They have a limit of how many can be in the store at one time. Typically they have someone working the door to let people in and out, and one goes in when one goes out.
