Has anybody here had a vasectomy?  Can you recommend a good doctor?

Please... no, "I know a welder" jokes.  LOL.

I assume no gun porn jokes would be appropriate in response?

Hey bro. Off topic but long time no talk. When are we going to head out to the Ravines again?

Urology Specialists of Nevada.

Dr. Michael Finkelstein did mine.

I have not had many vasectomies but he did a great job.

I am in the medical profession (no affiliation with them) and the whole group does a good job.

That guy looks like he should be in Lynard Skynard... not performing vasectomies.

Had mine done in '99. Best money I ever spent.
Dr William Wise; still works out of LV Urology on Cathedral Rock, Smoke Ranch/Tenaya area.

Since I had mine back in '79 the Doc's probably dead now, plus it was in New Jersey, so I can't help you.

Just don't ride your motorcycle home after the procedure

I keep hearing that they won't do one on you until you're of a certain age, wife approves, have a few kids, etc... is any of this true? I'm 26 and I've wanted one for about 4 years now, but people keep telling me that they (the urologist) won't do it. I'm 99.99% sure that this is what I want, but in the event that I am convinced by someone later on; can't I just freeze some of my best swimmers?

I'm slated to go under the knife with Dr. Finkelstein in August.  My preliminary consultation was good, the guy knows his stuff.  I'm not exactly jumping for joy at the prospect of getting "the boys" snipped, but he seems like a good man.

I'll let you know how it turns out...I'm already stocking up on bags of frozen peas...

Best,
JBR

Mine was the 'no scalpel' procedure. Done on a Friday, back to work on Monday. Just a dull ache (more of a discomfort) on the first day, like you have a while after someone kicked you 'there'; but after the first day I was out and about, and never needed frozen peas or meds. No worries, if someone like me can do it (I run away when the wife sees a zit on my back), anyone can.
