The Northern California folks would like to have a shoot outside of Reno sometime next year (not summer, not winter...spring might be good).  I would like to coordinate with local Reno/Northern NV shooters for when we do it.  I'll try and post more info when we get a more firm date/time/idea of what we'll be doing.

Can I apply for part time status, since I spend 1-2 months a year in Reno?

As a matter of fact, I will be there on Friday till the 30th.

Anyone interested in traveling to Douglas County can find plenty of ARFCOM style fun. Visit our public range featuring a 300yd rifle and 50yd handgun ranges (it's like $3.00 a carload and no range officers). Dine at Hamdog's (that's where I work), a firearms friendly establishment that often features "gun of the day" (for more info ask your server). Seriously, if anyone wants to have a get together in this neck of the woods, I can provide a place and a range.

About 8 hours North.
1/2 hour South of Carson City, 1/2 hour East of Lake Tahoe, 1 hour South of Reno.

Hey, another Nevadan here. I guess things are different up in north... here in Vegas we find an open patch of desert, outside the city limits, and open 'er up. There's a place about 15 miles north of my house, past the Paiute Tribal Police Station. There are lots of little mesas loaded with cars, washing machines, and all manner of hole-worthy items. Lots and lots of fun.

Blisters, Gunbert and I belong to Desert Sportsman, if you ever want to go shoot me an IM.

Oh, hell,no! I just mention the range because most folks these days aren't familiar with the concept of shooting on public land. I am less than 5 minutes from MILES of open space. I only do formal shootin' and entertaining guests at the range.

I guess I'm out of the loop where formal shooting is concerned. What or where is "Desert Sportsman"? I'm always interested in shooting with other folks.

I take my guests to the desert, LOL. I guess I'm not much of a host. But then again, I don't really know much about formal shooting around these parts. There is a gun club like 5 minutes from my house, up here in Centennial Hills, near Floyd Lamb State Park.

Desert Sportsman is on West Charleston between the 215 and Red Rock Conservation Area. I live just east of you, I'm in Eldorado, Camino Al Norte and Ann Road area, I work all the time in Elkhorn Springs.
