Us Vegas folks are looking for a time and place to do a swap meet/shoot/eat/drink thingy. The date will be Friday April 7th at 6pm at Desert Sportsman. I also want to include the northern folks so I'm gonna see if this flies, guys not in Vegas, you are free to post pics and descriptions of what you have for sale or trade in this thread or what you are looking for. If a deal is struck I am going to Reno April 10th, I can bring whatever you traded for and take back what you are giving up. If you do this make sure you list any and all defects and be as honest as possible. Also, I'll have to check NRS but it is legal to ship guns to people in your own state without the use of an FFL, I know long arms are that way but have to see about handguns. So either I can deliver or you can mail the damn things to each other.

I'll post for a friend. He has a Colt upper and lower. I think he will split them out. Caliber is 7.62x39mm. Upper is a 16" with a KAC RAS. I'll get some more details, like how much he wants for it.
I've got a NIB Yugo M48 7.92x57mm with accessories, $200. Remington 1100 LH, 12ga Skeet model with an extra barrel. Shot maybe once. It used to belong to my father and he just didn't use it. $450. Assorted webgear, holsters, etc. |
Sounds good to me, but i'll probablly come to shoot...running out of stuff to trade!
So, is this still on? NV Swap Meet, Friday April 7th at 6pm at Desert Sportsman
Yes, I'll be there and post more details midweek. |
Are you ever going to tell us what day you're going to be in our neck of the woods so I can take a day off work?
Actually, best bet for everybody involved might be a Sunday morning (Just about all the local Arfcommers have Sunday off, save Ron) get together followed by an afternoon of lazing about and general reckless endangerment involving firearms and alcohol. Oo-rah! |
i'mm packing some totes with all my trade goods and heading for bartertown!
will Aunty Entity be there? |
We'll be there also with barter material. Will the gate be open?
I'll do my best to get out there..WP, it occurred to me that we can only have 4 guests per member...will there be enough members to support the meet?
I've yet to see the "security" guy out there and there is no way I'd expect him to be there when it's dark. |
Did they get a new security guy? There's now a trailer and pickup truck where Frank used to be. |
Yeah, it looks like they've made a permanent living arrangement with someone there... |
Hmm, between you, me and I believe Buttercup has a membership we should be ok. |
Hubby has the membership. Just have to get him out of work a little early Friday (well, and me, too). |
I'm thinking of taking one of my neighbor's kids...you think you guys can tone the expletives down all night?
Dang...why does stuff always have to be at nights...dont you know that some of us work in nightclubs? I say that we are being descriminated against and WE'RE NOT GONNA TAKE IT...ok well it might just be me that works at night times so I can understand why I can never include myself in the fun. Hopefully some day a planned event will happen on a night I dont have to work.
I will be in Kommfornia for the weekend. SHIT, but my daughter is getting married and I have to give her away. Have a great time !!!!!!!!
I Fuckin' don't go anyplace where I can't Fucking swear. Is this a gun and gear swap meet for adults, or is it Fucking Romper Room time? |
Geez, Joe lighten up! WP was gonna bring him so you'd have someone to play with. |
Someone has to teach Joe how to hit the 7 ring and up. |

I'm considering coming out to this, if for no other reason than to meet people. I've never been to Desert Sportsman though. Is that the range way the hell out on the west end of Charleston?
Yes, just after the detention basin. |
I've got a membership DS and will most likely be bringing someone with me but that should leave a few spots open for others. What pit/area is this going to be happening at? I don't really have anything that I want to get rid of except for a Tauras PT-145 with night sights...whos bringing what to eat, what's still needed?
I'll pick up some hamburgers and buns but I don't know if what I bring will be enough so if you wanna eat bring something. I'm pretty sure we will be set up on Range 6. |
After thinking of the logistics, I'm just gonna pick up a burger along the way there, it's gonna be too hard to pack all this shit up and then have to cook.
Yall should stop by my Jason's Deli on the way out there and pick up some box lunches? Right there at Charleston and Rampart. |
Grab enough for all of us would ya? J/k I will grab something before I arrive so I don't have to venture off and hunt some wabbit. |
You work there or own it? Where exactly is it? |
I would like to stop by to meet some of you guys - dont have anything to sell so I am wondering how late do you think this thing will go?
I wont get out of work till 5:30 and need to drive home to drop off the company truck. Will the meet still be going on at say 6:30-7'ish? Thanks |
The way the past meets there have gone not a bullet will be fired and we will leave about 4am. |
Screw it I should be there. I was planning to go to DS and do some shooting tomorrow anyways.
Just look for the tall guy in slippers, a red wife beater and a pink cowboy hat with a feather in it. |
Shit, that was I was going to wear... |
If anyone has extra 100' extension cords and those 500 watt halogen work lights bring them, we don't need more than a few but I can't find all of mine. We also need a heavy duty splitter, pigtail....whatever they call the damn thing where you can plug 3 lights into it and run one cord to the generator.
Not a bullet will be fired I was looking for some advice from the experts with my BUIS Problem but either way sounds like it should be a good time and possible chance make some friends in my new city. -Oh , I will bring some ex cords and large splitter for the outlets. |
Are you using the close range or long range apeture to zero?? If you're using the close range DONT.. Leave the long range apeture up and zero with that.. John P.. |
The sight normally sits 2.6" above bore. If you shoot(with FS all the way down) more than that much low at 25yds, then no sighting method will solve the problem. I have the same front sight on my RRA, and for rear I have used MAD, MAT and YHM. None has problem as described. Curious to know what's the hight of the FS post...
It was fun to put some faces with the names and do some shooting. Thanks for taking the time to get it organized Wolfpack!
What ever happened to Good Ol' "Battlesight Zero?" |
+1...next time we need name badges. We had probably a dozen folks show up. |
Sorry I missed out. Something came up last night and I wasn't able to get free. I hope everyone had a good time.
That's what I use. If that's the case, at 25yrds, POI is only 1.2" below POA. |
