If any of you guys planned on attending the big Machine Gun shoot in Wikeup AZ in October be aware of some Major changes in the program. The best part of this shoot was the night Tracer shoot. They put out 400 reactive targets with glow sticks on them along with model airplanes also with glow sticks. The shoot looked like Bagdad the first night of the war. That is all changed now. Damn, I have been linking tracers for a month now.

MGShooters October Shoot Update

The October 21-23 MGShooters shoot is in five weeks. The shoot location is in excellent condition. The roads to the shoot location are all clear and passable by cars and trucks and trailers. More targets have been added at close and long range. Anti-Tank targets are being installed for long range shooting. The match area is expanded to have more distance and variety of targets.

The excessive rain and runoff Northern Arizona experienced in late 2004 and early 2005 is gone, and rain is back to normal conditions. Unfortunately, the large amounts of rain experienced have created conditions that are unique for Arizona, extensive grass and combustible groundcover exist on the lower deserts in the southwest. The MGShooters site is not an exception, and because of the potential risk, MGShooters has determined that a prudent step is that the October 21-23 2005 shoot will be planned as a BALL AMMO only shoot. Unless conditions improve, the Tracers and Incendiaries will not be permitted. This “Could” change for the positive, but as in past shoots we felt an obligation to inform everyone of the current shoot status. We understand that the huge night shoot, night reactive targets and night planes are unique to any shoot and a reason that many shooters have come to our shoot for over 25 years However, the potential fire risk as determined today is not acceptable, and a Ball only shoot will be planned. To attempt to offset not having a night shoot, there will be twice the amount of reactive targets and the number of planes will be greatly increased.

We realize that this does not makeup for the night events, however we hope that our many loyal supporters will understand that the new shoot location is not yet one year old, and that it took many years to get the old shoot location to be able to handle the very large shooting events. We ask for your patience as we improve each MGShooters event.

In the event that participation in the October 21-23 2005 shoot requires a change as a result of the Ball Only ammunition change, please contact us at www.MGShooters.com. During the next week, we will be attempting to contact everybody that has pre-registered, and to inform them of the shoot change to ball only. Please note, this change does not effect any future shoots. The March 2006 Shoot will be a full tracer shoot and the site work will be completely revised to greatly reduce the fire potential for all future shoots.

Again, we thank you for your patience and our many loyal supporters.
