For the last couple of weeks, some of the neighborhood dogs have been getting into my trash can. So, last night, awakened by our dog barking in the fenced back yard at 2a.m., I got up to see what had him so pissed off. I got to the front door just in time to hear the dogs getting into the trash container. I flipped on the light, fumbled with the locks and charged out the front in my boxer briefs to be met with the sight of the East bound end of a West bound black bear. He scampered to the tree line (25' or so) and turned to look at me. Easily 300 lbs and probably just a youngster, he made my heart skip a beat or two, lookin at me. Totally awesome wildlife experience in the comfort of my own home!
Called Fish and Game and I am still waiting for the Bear specialist to get back to me. I did learn that they don't like Top ramen, cuz he seems to pick it over and leave the noodles in the driveway.
I called the Sheriff's office and talked to Gunsap's wife ( a dispatcher) and asked her to send the SWAT team to dispatch the intruder on my property. She laughed and said that he seems to get around out here.
