My father is going to be visiting me next month and has been saving his money to buy his own AR so he has his own rifle to shoot when he visits me here in Vegas. He lives in Kali, so the rifle will live in my safe and I will never touch it of course. He is looking at getting a standard M4 style rifle, 16" barrel, flat top upper (he will probably put an optic on it eventually),  and must be from a good maker (Colt, RRA, Bushmaster, LMT). I am not real happy about Colt, but it's his money (Does the Black Rifle Armory sell its Colt rifles to civilians or just cops?). I just want to know the going prices around town. I don't have much time to do any shopping myself, so I need to know who has the best deal going when he visits at the end of June.

I love my dad. Half the guns I own are birthday presents or just plain gifts because he can't own that gun in Kali, so he gives my his money to buy myself the gun. Some day he will move here, so I will have to give most of those guns back.

No matter how innocent the purchase is, if your Dad lives in Kommiefornia and you tell the FFl dealer here in Nevada that you are buying the rifle for your Dad, the dealer must treat the purchase as a "Straw Purchase."

It falls under the "DON'T LIE FOR THE OTHER GUY" (a federal felony).

There IS a problem if he TELLS the FFL dealer that he is buying the rifle for someone else. The FFL dealer is prohibited from selling a firearm if he knows that the gun is being purchased for someone else. Once again, that is a STRAW purchase and illegal.

Had unrgop simply asked where he could get a good deal on an M4 without telling his life story of what he intended to do with it, this post would be somewhere on Page 4.
