Caver from the assault web is running point on the group buy this month.  He has secured a local source at some very good prices so no shipping and you can purchase at the DBS shoot on the 20th.  I still need to work out some of the details but here is his post from the other board.  Lets hear from you guys if there is some interest.  I will post more tomorrow.

Post from Assaultweb:
Note that this is only for people who will be at the next DBS shoot in Las Vegas.

Regarding the ammo purchase, I finally have prices. I think everyone is going to be happy with the price on PMP .223 that Richard and I negotiated.

PMP .223 $128/1000
Guatemalan .223 $115/1000
Russian 9mm (steel) $95/1000
Russain 7.62x39 (steel) $75/1000
PMP .45acp $150/1000
Russian .40s&w (steel) $105/1000

The PMP is "the good stuff", and I know a lot of us put it through our M16's without a problem. The guatemalan is reported to be physically dirty, but the samples I saw were clean and shiny. It is in sealed battled packs.
All the Russian ammo is steel cased, but it isn't Wolf, however it is probably manufactured in the same plant.

We need to know roughly how much should be brought, so if you want any, please send an email to "caver451 @ yahoo . com" with the subject "DBS ammo order" and I will start a list.

We think we'll be able to process credit cards. If Jon Call, the ammo vendor, is able to make it, he should be able to handle it. Otherwise, Richard suggests he would be willing to run it through his company.....

Shit. I wish I'd known about this run...

Hopefully the Wolf that I picked up at the show in Phoenix will work fine.  Sorry Rick, I know you need the numbers up to get these discounts.

Maybe I'll split a case with somebody...  Anyone want to halve a case of the .223 PMP stuff?  It's good ammo!

Yeah, I'll split a case with you.

And Rick, you can put me down for a case of .40 as well. Is there any good .308 in this buy?

Here is a status report on the ammo buy this month.  I have to remind everyone that I am NOT running point on this buy.  Caver from the assaultweb is working hard at making this happen.  I would like to give a big public thanks to Caver!

Here is his update as of today............

I have some good news on the ammo order, and some of the stress I've been experiencing on the matter has started to vanish. We will have just enough PMP .223 to cover all current orders. I will send out a note to everyone who has placed orders confirming this tonight.

There has also been a price reduction on the Russian .40s&w to $95/1000 and we should be getting some .308 and a few other calibers, too. Tracers for various calibers, including 9mm, 7.62x39 and .308 will be available, but pricing and quantity is unknown as of yet.

PMP .223 $128/1000 ** SOLD OUT **
Guatemalan .223 $115/1000
Russian 9mm (steel) $95/1000
Russain 7.62x39 (steel) $75/1000
PMP .45acp $150/1000
Russian .40s&w (steel) $95/1000
Venezuelan .308 (surplus) $28/200 rnd battle pack
Russian 5.45x39 (steel) $90/1000

I would like to stress that I tested a 360 round battle pack of the Guatemalan .223 and I think this stuff is a real bargain. It was physically clean, and functioned one magazine after another flawlessly in my Colt M-16. Most likely I'm going to pick up two 1440 round wooden crates of the stuff for my own personal use. I think it is a great alternative to the PMP, especially if you know your weapon prefers 5.56 instead of the ever-so-slightly different .223.

The ammo guy will be showing up around noon on Saturday. Still not sure about credit cards, so bring cash or your checkbook. Please, exact change if at all possible.

Thanks for your patience, everyone, and look forward to seeing you all at the shoot!

Would also like to mention that we should have a good quantity of ammo from all calibers (except the PMP .223) available even if you didn't reserve any. First come first served, of course!

I'd like to add a case of ruski 9mm to my order if it isn't too late.

That brings me to a case of PMP .223 that I'll be splitting with Ratspawn, and a case of the 9mm.  Thanks!

I'll be there as a lookiloo for a few minutes on Saturday as I need to be back home that evening.  I've got plenty of the "normal" stuff but looking for some cool stuff for my .50 and smaller guns!  I wish I could stay but I have a shoot on Sunday that I already comitted to.  One of these days my wife and I will come out.

Anyone know how long the ammoguy will be around?  I just found out I have to work on Saturday so I won't be able to show up until later.  I put my name in for some of the PMP, but never got a confirming email.  So, assuming worst case, I still need a case of the Guatamalen.

Crap!

I can't make it this weekend.  Have to rest and recover from my little fender bender accident...  Hopefully October will be good enough to go.  Too bad I can't shoot in my back yard.

We just returned from the September DBS shoot. I hope this can be done again.  There was some .308 for sale at a very reasonable price.  I bought all I could.  Otto is hungry!
