So I will be visiting the Milwaukee area and I'm looking for a nice place to take the wife for dinner. Were not super into having a artsy type of meal, but we appreciate a quality steak. We are going to check out the Sprecher brewery and finish the night at the Comedy Cafe, so that will give ya an idea of the area we will be in. Thanks a bunch in advance!

If you're going to Comedy Cafe, you're going to be a stones throw from Lakefront Brewery.  I like Sprecher, but their tour is nothing special.  Lakefront's tour is a blast.

I agree that Eddie Martini's is one of the better steak places around, but it's not exactly close to the Comedy Cafe.  Mason Street Grill (in the Pfister Hotel) is pretty good as are Butches and 5-o-Clock.

Lakefront also has decidedly better beer, however, comma, their tours sell out on the regular so it is sometimes a crap shoot as to getting in or not.  Milwaukee Brewing Company does tours on Saturdays at their Walker's Point facility but also sell out far in advance.  Either is closer than Sprecher.

FYI Sprecher is quite a bit North of there; not a PITA to get to but your best bet for getting on and off I-43 is McKinley Ave. which turns into Knapp St downtown.  Either Hampton or Capitol work for getting to/from Sprecher.

Really?  That many replies, and no one mentioned wards house of prime yet?

Wow...

Op - check it out.  AMAZING prime rib.  I'm sure the steaks are outstanding too, but I've never tried one because the prime is SO good.

Ps - they serve a 168 Oz cut if you're feeling etheopian-style famished...

WOW! Thanks all! Kind of funny having so much steak talk on turkey day.
