Okay, a couple of statements...
1. I've had a sucky day at work.
2. I love introducing people to the world of firearms but the love turns to hate when they get stupid or lazy.
Now since that's out of the way, on with the show….
The rants of the day are:
1. People that post rants.
2. Folks that post topics such as “Which gun should I buy?”. My god people, if you have got money to burn then give it to a charity. If you haven’t a clue on what you would want to get then you’re not ready to own a firearm.
3. Starting polls that say, “Which one should I get?”. This only shows that you may not have invested time in research. I can believe an honest attempt when I read “I’m trying to decide between x, y, or z. Does anyone have a thoughts about these?”
4. No more questions like…
· How do I buy a gun?
· Where can I find a lower parts kit?
· Why is my takedown pin tight?
· Where can I find the best deal on XYZ?
· What lube should I use?
All of these type questions can be answered by Google, an FAQ or the owner’s manual.
I have absolutely no problem with people that have a problem or question, tried to answer it themselves, or honestly haven’t a clue. I always give people the benefit of the doubt but a line has to be drawn somewhere. I guess I’ve been inundated with people today that refuse to pull themselves up by their bootstraps and I snapped when I was reading the general forums this afternoon. I know that we were new to the firearm world once but someone has to help teach people to be more self-reliant.
