Just heard it.

A source inside the Packers organisation has said that Brett has decided to retire. Brett and his wife plan to go back to Mississippi and open a bakery where they will specialise in turnovers.....

Nah, you got it all wrong.  I heard he's in intensive off-season practice in preparation for next season at a sunny practice field down south.  Of course, practice was interrupted when one of the players found a white powdery substance on the field.  Anthrax?  Coke?  They called in the FBI, who determined it was the goal line.  Practice resumed, because they were unlikely to encounter the substance again.

I know a couple ARFCOMMERS here in WI that are fans of "other" teams, but none of them that would post the above in a Packers thread in the WI hometown forum.

Come to think of it, I don't think any of them are from IL either.

Favre will be remembered as one of THE best QB's of all time.  This fella brought a spirit to the team and game that few can equal.  It's too bad the team has sunk to where they are but he still gives all, every play, and lays it on the line, with class.  He will be an instant Hall of Famer when he retires.

I don't blame him alone. But to keep thinking he is the only one trying out there is wrong.

I agree and there was no attempt to put blame on him, at least by me. I just thought it was a funny joke seeing as he did throw a shitload of INTs this season again.

The blame for this season starts with the coach, then goes to the D because well it was lacking. Then all the injuries to O starters didn't help. But in the end it is a team efort and that team just wasn't clicking at all this year. shit happens. I can take a disapointing season, I am aferall a cubs fan
