Do we have enough votes to override?

28-5 senate...veto proof but...
2 votes short in the assembly for the override.
Just heard on the radio.

Glenn you guys ever have to deal with calls for people open carrying and just going about thier business?

Just heard from a Madtown LEO the same thing I heard from the MPD officer, in Madtown/Milwaukee open carry is an automatic DC charge. Gunna talk to a Racine LEo and a Kenosha cop too just to see what they say about it.

I can't believe that the WSC would miss something like looking into how open carry is treated in different areas of the state. I think then they would have seen CCW was the "only resonable means" to carry.....

What radio station and how accurate is the information.  I haven't heard anything about Dems plans to change their vote.

Personally, I think the longer that Doyle keeps in his desk the BETTER.  That would mean that he doesn't have the votes to uphold his veto.  If he vetoes it right away to me that sounds like he has someone who is going to change their vote.

If he doesn't have the votes he would continue to try to get the votes until the last day, then maybe veto it just because he can -OR- or just let to become law without signing it.

This news was from WTMJ in Milwaukee, I would say a reliable news source.

I haven't heard anything about Dems plans to change their vote.

No need for a change, apparently, one republican was absent on the original vote in December and one republican has  been elected since then.
Optimistically, these two will vote for, which give enough for an override. According to WTMJ.

That is the same count it has been since it was voted on in the Assembly and the addendments were made.  Your post made it sound as if we were 2 votes short (as in 2 people changed their vote), which isn't the case.  At this point we have just enough, the key is to hang onto those votes.

Again here are the 6 Democrats which we need to CALL and email.  Please thank them for their past support and encourage them to continue to support the bill if it is vetoed by Doyle.
