My wife saw the tail end of a segment on the 10PM news in Milwaukee (ch. 58).  She said the picture was of a couple of rifles and the announcer was saying something about 73% of legislative support.  She checked the ch 58 web site but could not find the story.  However, she did see an opinion poll asking if Wisconsin should have its own ASW ban.  Should we worry?

OK we can have a AWB in WI only if they have a SUV, sportscar, motorcycle, cappachino and milk product ban also.

Someone posted on this on the General board but had no specifics.  I found the poll at CBS 58's web page (and voted, of course).  Right now, 'no' AWB is leading 'yes' by a wide margin.  Let's get over there and make it even wider!

edit to add link.  Right now the poll is on the front page (after you wait for their little flash logo to load).

I don't think they can pass it.
If they could ...... it doesn't have a prayer of gaining any momentum until after the elections.
Much as the media likes to pretend that Madison and Milwaukee are snap-shots of the WI electorate, the folks with their asses on the line this time around know darned well that a state AWB would be political suicide.

You were watching some cheap political posturing for the benefit of the handwringers.
The "73% support" is a made-up number so that some socialist who doesn't believe in private property can say,
"That gull-darned NRA is forcing these evil things on us even though no one wants them."

Christine Sinicki (D-20th District) who is a state rep is planning on introducing legislation banning AW's.  She was on channel 4 news in Milwaukee with a few brain dead police chiefs vomiting forth the same liberal rhetoric.  What a byatch!!  I don't think it will gain enough momentum to even move forth as long as we keep up pressure.

Put it this way:

We have enough pro-gun folks to come within 1 vote of overriding a veto to get CCW.

An AWB won't even make it out of committee...
